Fruit and Fleurs

I was inspired by an arrangement I sent to a friend when her mother was sick and decided to use lemons and limes in the decor for my next event. The fruit created a strong visual impact and added to the casual atmosphere of this cocktail party.

Merry Merry! Christmas in Seattle

Crave Show

I have recently started collaborating with wedding and event planner, Renee Metty of It's Eventful (www.itseventful.com) and she asked me to design her booth at the recent Crave Show at Seattle Center. The event was for the American Heart Association's Go Red campaign so we wanted to show a modern, sophisticated spin on the red theme. I used three kinds of roses, rose hips and red/purple mini callas for the floral arrangement and the Floral Silhouette L'Amour overlay in black with cerise napkins all from BBJ Linen. Black glasswear from Totally Tabletops (http://www.totallytabletops.com/) added the final touch.

Signature Dinner at the Raisbeck Estate

I loved planning and designing this event for Grammy and Oscar winning composer Marvin Hamlisch's visit to Seattle! I used champagne and gold lamour linens from BBJ with 150 delicate glass candle holders in various shapes and heights to accentuate the shimmer. The flowers were white with tulips, roses, freesia, wax flowers, lisianthus and wisteria. Pure glamour!

Mike & Christy's Wedding

One of my very dear friends got married in September and asked me to design her wedding. Mike and Christy Cheever were married on the water at her parents' house in Olympia. The morning of the wedding, we drove south in torrential rain, fingers crossed for some sun for the outdoor ceremony. By two o'clock the rain has stopped, the skies had cleared and the sun peeked through to provide a dramatic backdrop to a beautiful ceremony. Here are a smattering of pictures from the day...

Bouquets

Some bridal bouquets I have done recently...

2008 Opening Night Gala

The Symphony's Opening Night Gala this weekend was a ton of work but worth every minute of it. Guests posed on the red carpet entrance, sipped on lemongrass cocktails and danced the night away surrounded by mokara orchids and tiny goldfish. The event was even reviewed by music critic Richard Campbell, in the Seattle Post Intelligencer on Sunday!
